Remembering the Legend: The Story of Andy Vye

Andy Vye was a larger-than-life figure, known by many names – The King, Jughead, Jethro Bodine, Stooge, The Silverback, Fred Flintstone, Man’s simplest tool, the original Cement Head, and simply, The man, the myth, and the legend. Andy was a big man, both in size and personality, and he never hesitated to flaunt his physique and make jokes about his size. He would often say things like, “I’ll hit you so hard, that when you wake up, your clothes will be out of style! Ahhh, eh eh!” or “Are you crazy? Look at the SIZE of me! Look at the size of you! eh eh!” He was also famous for his quote, “The membership has spoken.” Despite his rough exterior, Andy had a heart of gold and a desire to be just like everyone else, to be “One of the Boys.”

Andy was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, where he grew up as a street smart tough guy. His love for boxing was evident in the way he would shadow box all the time, pretending to be the great Muhammed Ali. He was always accompanied by his drinking buddy and sidekick, Richie Learmont, and the two of them would travel together to Barbados numerous times. Andy was also known for his playful pranks, like spraying unsuspecting individuals with the water truck as he drove by.

At work, Andy was a hard worker, keeping everyone on their toes with his constant antics and jokes. He was a source of laughter and enjoyment, making work a fun place to be. Despite his tough exterior, Andy’s real objective was to be a part of the group and be accepted by his peers.

Sadly, Andy passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and fond memories. He was truly one of a kind and will always be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his love for boxing, and his never-ending pranks. Andy Vye will always have a special place in the hearts of those who knew him, and his famous quotes will live on as a testament to his unique spirit.
