Once upon a time, in the small town of Sudbury, the Air Canada employees decided to enter the local annual bathtub race. But, they didn’t want to enter just any ordinary bathtub. They wanted to make a splash and stand out from the rest.
So, they decided to paint their bathtub in the company’s colors and call it their “airplane” bathtub. The day of the race arrived and the crowd of 18,000 spectators were in for a surprise when they saw the Air Canada “airplane” bathtub make its grand entrance.
In command of the “airplane” bathtub was station attendant Greg Dow. He was determined to pilot the beast to victory, while his pit crew dispensed peanuts and company wings to entice support from the crowd.
The race began and the “airplane” bathtub quickly took the lead. The other racers were left in its wake as it zoomed past them, leaving them in a state of shock and awe.
As they crossed the finish line, the crowd erupted in cheers and the Air Canada employees were declared the winners of the “most unusual” category. Greg Dow and his crew were proud of their accomplishment, and they celebrated with a round of peanuts and company wings.
From then on, the annual bathtub race in Sudbury was known for its unique and creative entries. But, no one could ever top the Air Canada “airplane” bathtub’s victory. It was truly a sight to behold and a tale to be told for many years to come.
