The Airport Stereotypes

As soon as the plane landed, James couldn’t wait to get off. He grabbed his carry-on and stood up, trying to finagle his way to the front of the line. “Got a connection to catch!” he called out, pushing past a few other passengers.

Meanwhile, Sarah leaned back in her seat and put her feet up on the armrest in front of her, relishing the chance to stretch her legs. She didn’t even notice the disgusted glances of the other passengers, who couldn’t believe she would be so disrespectful as to put her bare feet on someone else’s armrest.

As the plane taxied to the gate, a few passengers started clapping, including Tim, who always felt the need to show his appreciation for a safe landing. Meanwhile, Dave was busy practicing his putting stroke in the aisle, much to the annoyance of the flight attendants trying to get everyone off the plane.

As people filed off the plane, Scott couldn’t help but side-eye the texts on the phone of the person in front of him. And poor Rachel was stuck behind a tall guy who leaned back, causing her knees to painfully jam into the armrests.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, there was also the person eating an onion bagel, licking their fingers after each bite before tapping the shoulder of the person next to them to ask if they could go to the restroom. And then there was the guy who seemed to take forever to get off the plane, holding up the entire process. And of course, there was the loud crying baby that made the whole flight miserable.

The airport was no better, with the TSA watchlist causing delays and the “seat fighter” trying to claim the coveted window seat. There was also the doctor, trying to watch the movie of the person next to them because they had forgotten to download one for themselves. And then there was the person who brought their barking dog, and the family with multiple crying kids. And let’s not forget the guy who always took up 1.5 seats, and the seat kicker who couldn’t keep still.

As Rachel finally made it off the plane and headed to baggage claim, she couldn’t wait to get home and put this travel nightmare behind her.
