Captain Sinclair’s voice came over the intercom, trying to remain calm despite the chaos that was unfolding outside the plane. “This is Captain Sinclair speaking. On behalf of my crew, welcome aboard British Airways flight 602 traveling from New York to London. At the moment, we are riding at 35,000 feet over the Atlantic.”
As passengers looked out the windows, they were shocked to see that both the starboard engines were on fire. Some even gasped in horror as they realized that the port engines had fallen off completely.
“If you look out the starboard windows, you can see that both the starboard engines are on fire. You can observe that the port engines have fallen off if you look out of the windows on the port side,” Captain Sinclair continued, trying to reassure the passengers as best as he could.
But things only got worse as the captain’s next announcement came over the intercom. “If you look down towards the Atlantic, you will see a yellow life raft with three people on it waving at you. That’s me, your captain, the co-pilot, and our flight attendant.”
The passengers couldn’t believe what they were hearing. They had trusted Captain Sinclair and his crew to safely transport them across the Atlantic, and now they were in the midst of a disaster.
“This is a recorded message. Have a good flight!” Captain Sinclair’s voice came over the intercom one last time before the recording ended, leaving the passengers to grapple with the reality of their situation.
