Sylvanno, Tony, Nunzio, and Big Al were four Italian Canadians who worked as ramp agents for an airline in Toronto. They were a tight-knit group, bidding together on the ramp and always looking out for one another. They all spoke in a unique blend of mob lingo, peppered with their favorite phrase, “forgetaboutit.”
Despite their tough exteriors, the four men were all wanna-be wiseguys, trying to emulate the cool and confident attitude of the mobsters they idolized. Sylvanno was from Calabria, Tony from Naples, Nunzio from Sicily, and Big Al, the lead hand, was from Reggio Calabria. They all had different backgrounds and experiences, but they all shared a love for their Italian heritage and culture.
During lunchtime, the ramp would fill with the delicious aroma of homemade Italian food. The guys would take out an impressive spread of Prosciutto and Sopprasata sandwiches, pizza, pasta dishes, and of course, the homemade Italian hot peppers. They were always happy to share their food with their colleagues, but don’t expect it for free. They were wise guys after all.
Despite their tough exterior, the four friends were all nice guys who would do anything for you, of course, for a small fee. They were always there for a laugh and a good time, but don’t cross them. They may be wiseguys, but they were also fiercely loyal to their friends and family.
