The Legend of the Baggage Container Hot Tub

It was a sweltering summer day in the 1980s and the heatwave showed no signs of letting up. A group of ramp agents, Mike, Christina, Rick, and the late Jimmy Biggs, were on shift at the airport, with a bit of downtime between flights. As they stood around in the hot sun, trying to find ways to cool off, someone had an idea.

“Hey, what if we turned that baggage container over and filled it with water?” Mike suggested. “We could use it as a dipping pool, like a hot tub.”

The others quickly warmed to the idea, and before long they were scurrying around, gathering the supplies they would need. Christina ran to fetch the water truck, while Rick and Jimmy set to work flipping the container over and preparing it for filling.

As the water began to flow into the makeshift hot tub, the ramp agents couldn’t help but smile at the absurdity of what they were doing. They knew they had to be careful, as they didn’t want to attract the attention of passengers or management. So, they chose a secluded spot at the back of East Beach, away from prying eyes.

As they slipped into the cool water, letting out sighs of relief and contentment, the ramp agents couldn’t believe their luck. They had found a way to beat the heat, and they were doing it in style.

This incident quickly became the stuff of legend and folklore among the AC employees. It was the kind of spontaneous, fun-loving adventure that everyone wanted to be a part of, and it was something that they would never forget.
