Frank was a member of Bruce’s crew in 1972. Despite his tardiness, he was a valuable member of the team. However, there was one problem: Frank had an intense fear of coffins. On one particular flight, the crew discovered that there was a coffin in compartment #3. Bruce, the leader of the crew, made the decision to open the compartment and force Frank to confront his fear. The rest of the team locked Frank in the compartment while they finished parking the DC9. When the other crew members began unloading the front of the plane, one member cautiously opened the back compartment to find Frank’s hand gripping tightly. Frank did not stop running until he reached the parking lot, completely overcome with fear.
