Soup bone’s Tale
Ken was a station attendant, a man of some skill But one day he was fired, for drinking on the job still A year passed by, and he returned to the scene Sitting in the “golds,” across from the bar, where it all had been
A couple approached, and asked where they might find a drink Soupbone pointed to the bar, not even missing a beat or a blink But he warned them with a smile, the prices were quite steep The last time he was there, it cost him fifty thousand, in lost wages deep
It’s a funny tale, but a cautionary one too Drinking on the job can lead to all sorts of trouble, that’s true But Ken returned, and Soup bone’s response was quick and clever A reminder that even in hard times, we can find a bit of cheer.
